Opening Doors
Whenever I'm at my parents' house (Chip gets stressed with moving, so she lives there with them) Chip spends most of her day with me. Sleeping, cuddling, sitting at the foot of my bed, she's like my little shadow. Sometimes, though, I close my door before I go to bed. In the morning, I used to be woken up by loud THUDS against the door. Every time I'd get up, I'd open the door, and my Chip would run into the room. It eventually hit me (no pun intended) that she Chip had been slamming her little body against the door to get it open. Sometimes it'd work, and the door would open, but sometimes it'd take a few tries, and it'd wake me up. I love my silly little kitty...
Missing??
One day, when I was very young, Chip went missing for a whole day. I hadn't actually been very bothered (I believe I had seen her that morning, and she does nap frequently), but my father was beside himself. He couldn't find her anywhere in our tiny little house, no matter how much he cried or walked around meowing. I kept trying to assure him that it'd be okay, she's definitely here somewhere, but he wasn't having it. At the end of the day, though, we were sitting in the living room, and I looked up- there was Chip, crawling down from our storage loft (inaccessible to a human, but very accessible to a cat who can jump on furniture) after what looked like a nice, long nap. Crisis averted!
Music
I love music, and I've been singing my whole life. Chip seems to love music too! Every time I sing, Chip comes trotting up to me, rubs up against my legs, or hops into my lap. She purrs, runs around, and sits with me whenever I practice. It's always been so sweet to me, and I love to sing little songs to her. I especially love to sing to her at night, when she's laying with me in bed; I can pet her and sing her little lullabies!!
